...On Being Kind.

Being kind as opposed to being unkind just seems right in my head, never a question, as long as you keep the question that simple. Thing is, the question to be "KIND or UNKIND?" could easily become "KIND only when kindness is given?" or UNKIND when rude behavior is received?" It makes one think. Now to take this eternally broad introduction and narrow it down a bit for grammatically correct reading. ;-) Plato's philosophical thinking led him to this conclusion; "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." Isn't that the truth though? And thank the Lord for quotes in my inbox, because sometimes you just need that miraculous reminder! A reminder that, in one simple sentence, says that you are ONE of TRILLIONS, that mortal life IS a constant battle, and that you are certainly not alone. The hard battle becomes easy before it gets hard again, because what goes up, MUST come down. Every participant, every life around us, holds a heart that is warm, supporting of it's kind, and we are all from the same dirt. I am always WE, and passing on the warmth that is the affirmation of such common knowledge is very, very KIND.

You do understand, of course, that there aren't trillions of people in the world, right?

thanks for your constructive criticism. remind me to comment on you the next time i see you. Just joshin' ya man, but kinda not. In any case, good eye, and for the readers, here is a link to the world population website, it's much more exact than my uneducated guess was back in the post.

you may want to know if i actually knew the est. population or not, but i think it's better to keep those kinda questions unanswered. At least until my Barbara Walters interview.

it's kind of scary that there will soon be 6,666,666,666 people in the world. early may so says the US Census Bureau.

On another note, there is something powerful about kindness. Now that i'm starting to get into this whole routine thing, having worked in the same office for a couple of years now, nuances of the days seem to mean more. Because so little changes from day to day, a brief instance of kindness can go a long way.
